Chicago Bears wide receiver Darnell Mooney is listed as questionable for Sunday Night Football against the Los Angeles Rams but is reportedly expected to play.
Mooney has been dealing with a back injury, however he was still a full participant in practice on Friday.
Mooney might not be a starter in shallow fantasy leagues, but he's an intriguing sleeper option this season in deeper leagues. He's listed as WR54 this week in The Action Network fantasy rankings. That's also where he comes in at in our full season rankings. Our projections have him getting more than 100 targets this season.
It'll be the first game at SoFi with fans in the stands for the Rams, who are -7.5 favorites with a total of 46.5 at FanDuel.
Mooney made a late-season surge in 2020. The rookie posted at least four catches in six of his final nine games after doing so once across the first six. He'll become a more vital piece in the offense without wide receiver Anthony Miller, who was dealt to the Texans over the summer.
Although Mooney flashed explosive traits in his first season, the Bears' offense in general was dormant. The unit clocked out of 2020 26th in explosive rush rate and 29th in explosive pass rate.
Andy Dalton will start at quarterback for the Bears with eyes on rookie quarterback Justin Fields should Dalton struggle at any point this season.
The Bears are 9-2 (+550) to win the NFC North this season at FanDuel, behind the Vikings (+280) and Packers (-165).
Chicago head coach Matt Nagy is 4-1 against the number the last five games in September, but just 2-5 the last seven in the underdog role.
