The Denver Broncos (5-3) and Baltimore Ravens (5-3) will begin the Sunday slate of NFL Week 9 at 1 p.m. ET from M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore. The game will be live on CBS and can be streamed on Paramount+, YouTube TV and other services. The Ravens are favored by 9 points over the Broncos (Ravens -9) with the over/under set at 46.5 points. The Ravens are -450 on the moneyline to win and Denver is +350 to pull off the upset.
The Broncos won 28-14 last week over the Panthers. Bo Nix is settling in and threw for 284 yards and 3 touchdowns last week, and Denver has now won 5 of its last 6 games. The Ravens lost 29-24 last week to the Browns. Lamar Jackson is thriving with 17 touchdowns and 2 interceptions this season, while Derrick Henry leads the NFL with 946 rushing yards.
Let's get into my Broncos vs. Ravens prediction and NFL picks for Week 9.
Broncos vs. Ravens Expert Picks
Spread
Lamar Jackson is the most prolific quarterback in NFL history against the first-half spread. I'm going to continue backing that trend here with the Ravens today against the Broncos.
Moneyline
I'll lay the points on my pick against the first-half spread instead of betting any moneylines.
Over/Under
I have no bet on the over/under for this game.
My pick: Ravens 1H -5.5 (-110)

Broncos vs. Ravens NFL Week 9
First of all, Lamar Jackson is a first-half-cover machine. In his career against the first-half spread, Jackson is 54-29-2. That’s a 65.1% cover rate that makes him the most profitable quarterback in that market in NFL history. Not only that, but he’s covering by more than a field goal per game in the first half.
Here, Jackson and the Ravens will need to beat the Broncos by more than a field goal give the spread. No problem, though. As a favorite against the first half spread, Jackson is 46-23-2 (67%) and covering by more than four points per game.
When laying six or more points in the first half, Jackson is 11-3-1 (78.6%) against the spread. These trends are bananas and help us here if we’re looking to avoid the full-game line.
The Ravens thrive in the first half because they usually have a strong game plan, and I expect them to come out with their hair on fire here after last week’s loss to the Browns.
Also, Baltimore’s defense should be healthier with cornerbacks Nate Wiggins and Marlon Humphrey practicing in the buildup to this game. This is a pass-funnel defense that thrives against the run, and the pass defense has been extremely unlucky given its dropped interceptions and advanced metrics.
This Broncos offense is not the type to exploit the Ravens secondary either. You need a really good quarterback and dominant outside receivers to take advantage of Baltimore’s secondary. The Ravens have played the likes of Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow, Dak Prescott, Josh Allen, Jayden Daniels and Baker Mayfield this season when the Buccaneers were healthy. That’s a murderer’s row of quarterbacks, so I expect the Ravens pass defense to look better here soon.
The Broncos defense has been its strength, but it has faced plenty of backup quarterbacks and a joke of a schedule this season. Bo Nix has been atrocious early in games, as well, like a couple of weeks ago when they were down 23-0 at halftime to the Chargers.
Denver is very blitz-heavy on defense, but Jackson will be able to handle that. I’m going to play the trends and back the Ravens to take control of this game early – and we won’t have to worry about weather they finish the job.
