With so much focus on Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, Gesicki is the forgotten man in the Dolphins offense.
He leads the team in red-zone targets (nine) and is third on the team in touchdowns (four). And while the Chargers have only allowed three touchdowns to tight ends this season, they are bottom five in passing touchdowns allowed.
Fellow tight end Durham Smythe was limited in practice this week, so Gesicki could also get a boost in snaps.
The other Dolphin I was considering was Trent Sherfield at +400 but I prefer Gesicki this time around.
Everett only has two scores this season, but he has nine targets in the red zone and leads all Chargers tight ends in snaps.
He seems to on the mend from a midseason injury, as he has 10 catches over his last two games – with one red-zone target in each of the last three weeks.
The Dolphins have allowed seven touchdowns to tight ends this season and are bottom five in receptions and receiving yards to the position.
Mike Williams is back but that isn't necessarily a bad thing as I expect Everett to see a lot more one-on-one coverage as a result.
Pick: Gerald Everett ATD +330 |
