After deciding to suspend its Sunday Early Win promotion, DraftKings is keeping its Early Win promotion for Thursday Night Football active.
The promotion entails that if you place a pregame moneyline wager on either the Dolphins or the Bengals ahead of their Thursday Night Football contest, a seven-point lead would instantly mark your ticket as a victory.
Even if the team you bet on went on to lose the game, with this promotion your wager would be paid out in full.
The Action Network's own Avery Yang reported last week that DraftKings had elected to suspend its Sunday promotion for the time being.
On the first two Sundays of the NFL season, the promotion had a 10-point stipulation of the same variety, meaning if your team got up by 10 points, DraftKings would pay the ticket as a winner.
These wagers could not be bet with unlimited amounts, however, with the maximum wager size being $500 and many individuals having smaller maximums.
The max wager was at least partially tied to the VIP status of one's account with DraftKings, indicating bigger bettors had bigger maximums.
However, the sportsbook has decided to continue the promotion – with $500 maximums still in play – for Thursday Night Football.
It's unclear what this means for the promotion's future on Sundays, or for subsequent Thursdays, but Yang reported last week that DraftKings had paid out $75 million due to the promotion over the first two weeks of the season.
The expected value of these promotions is high for bettors, as noted in Yang's piece. By betting on underdogs throughout the first few weeks of the season, bettors could've made a handsome return through this promotion.
Miami is currently slated to enter Thursday's contest as a four-point underdog with a +170 moneyline.
