With the New Orleans Saints' win against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, quarterback Drew Brees joined Peyton Manning and Brett Favre as the only three quarterbacks in NFL history to defeat all 32 teams straight up (all it took was Justin Tucker missing his first career extra point after starting 222-of-222).
But perhaps more impressively, Brees has now covered the point spread against every single team in the league, accomplishing something that neither Favre nor Manning did in their quest to defeat all 32 NFL teams.
Here is how Brees has done straight-up and against the spread vs. all 32 franchises:
One of the factors allowing Brees to accomplish such an amazing feat is that he has played for multiple teams throughout his career (Chargers and Saints).
Peyton Manning covered the spread against 31 teams in his career, going 0-4 ATS vs. the Colts, the team he spent 13 seasons with after being drafted No. 1 overall.
Brett Favre, meanwhile, covered the spread against 30 teams, going 0-4-1 ATS vs. the Jets, a team he would later join. The first time Favre faced the Jets in 1994, he beat them 17-10, but pushed the 7-point spread. Favre would actually get another shot at New York as a member of the Vikings in 2010, but lost 29-20 in New York.
Favre faced the Texans just once as a member of the Packers. He beat them 16-13, but pushed the 3-point spread.
In NFL history, 10 quarterbacks have defeated at least 30 different teams straight-up in their careers: Brett Favre, Peyton Manning, Drew Brees, Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, Ben Roethlisberger, Kerry Collins, John Elway, Joe Flacco and Alex Smith
Brees is the only one of those 10 quarterbacks to cover the spread against all 32 NFL teams.
