Eagles vs. Buccaneers
It’s fair to say Mike Evans has been a blessing to bettors this season. Many expected a drop-off from No. 13 with Baker Mayfield at quarterback, but it didn’t happen.
Evans may have had four less receptions than last year with 79, but he more than doubled his touchdowns with 13 compared to last year’s six. The value on him for an anytime touchdown has steadily dropped all season, and instead today I’m going to bet on his total receptions.
The line currently stands at 4.5, a number he’s hit nine times in 17 games. That doesn’t sound too promising, but you have to consider that Mayfield loves him and has targeted him five or more times in all but two games this season. Given that the Eagles’ defense has allowed more passing yards than anybody besides the Commanders, you have to think Mayfield will be airing it out again, and the over on 4.5 receptions should land comfortably.
Pick: Mike Evans Over 4.5 Receptions (-130)

I cannot believe it’s 2024 and I’m here telling you to bet on Julio Jones receptions, but this is the NFL and wild things happen. The news that A.J. Brown is out of this game means we are going to see other Eagles’ wideouts get some more looks. Brown averaged 9.3 targets per game this season, and I think we’re going to see Jones hit his over on 1.5 receptions with Brown sidelined.
He’s only had two or more receptions three times this season across eight games, but two of those have been in the last two weeks. Given how bad the Buccaneers are against the pass, while being good against the run, we should see the Eagles focus on beating them through the air.
Pick: Julio Jones Over 1.5 Receptions (-120)

We’ve mentioned Jones getting more targets with Brown out, but the main benefactor of that injury is surely going to be DeVonta Smith. With Smith effectively being 1B to Brown’s 1A, we would expect a lot of targets anyway, but now that should be bumped up even more.
The Buccaneers have allowed the fourth-most passing yards per game, so with Smith's total set at 66.5, it’s a number that you can be confident in him beating. He’s hit the over in six of his past nine games, and with an average of 13.2 yards per catch this season, he should get the volume to get 67-plus yards.
Pick: DeVonta Smith Over 66.5 Receiving Yards (-113)
Eagles vs. Buccaneers
After backing the over on receiving yards against one poor pass defense, let's do the same against the other. When it comes to backing a Buccaneer to hit his receiving yards prop against this terrible Eagles’ pass defense, I prefer Chris Godwin to Evans.
Evans will get a lot of targets, but given his incredible numbers this season he’s going to be getting the most attention, which should allow Godwin to shine. Godwin's 51 yards last week ensured he posted another 1,000-yard regular season, and given the Eagles are allowing 252.7 yards per game through the air this season and Godwin has led Tampa Bay in receptions, we should see the veteran cover 54.5 yards.
Pick: Chris Godwin Over 54.5 Receiving Yards (-110)

This time we’re backing the future Hall of Famer to find the endzone. I’ve been looking for a high-priced anytime touchdown scorer, and it came down to either picking Jones or Cade Otton.
I’ve gone with Jones purely on the basis of his ability to win a jump ball and his knack for using that big body efficiently in the end zone. With Brown out, the Eagles will need somebody with a big frame to dominate aerially when they’re in the red zone, and I'm more comfortable backing Jones than Dallas Goedert. Jones and Goedert both have three touchdowns for the season, but the tight end has had over five times as many receptions. In fact, Jones has scored his three touchdowns on just 11 receptions. He really stands out as a player the Eagles will look to utilize Monday night.
