Don't underestimate the value of streaming in fantasy.
Streaming quarterbacks, kickers and defenses each week allows you to take advantage of the best available options. And if you missed out on a high-caliber tight end in drafts, you can even stream that position with some success.
Each week I highlight the best streaming options at all four of those positions. Here's how those recommendations would rank with each position through two weeks:
- Quarterback: QB5 (49.82 points)
- Tight End: TE19 (11.7 points)
- Kicker: K2 (27 points)
- Defense: DEF4 (28 points)
Now let's dig into my top fantasy streaming options at QB, tight end, kicker and defense for Week 3.
Best Fantasy Streaming Options: Week 3
QB: Josh Allen, Bills
Matchup: vs. Bengals
Ownership: 40%
We are going back to the Allen well after he rewarded us with 22.22 points against the Giants last week.
Allen continues to improve as a passer in his sophomore season with a 253/1/0 line through the air while also chipping in a 7/21/1 on the ground. The addition of veteran receivers Cole Beasley and John Brown has done wonders for Allen's progression, and I want to invest in the dual-threat QB for a matchup against a Bengals defense that was gashed by the 49ers last week.
Allen could turn into a long term QB1 option if he's able to maintain this level of consistency.
TE: Jimmy Graham, Packers
Matchup: vs. Broncos
Ownership: 59%
The life of streaming is not a pretty one and I do not recommend it if you can avoid it at the draft.
Hockenson left us with a dud in Week 2, but he was more of a long term pick up rather than a one-week rental. This week we're left with our Week 1 streamer in Graham.
Graham is fresh off a Week 2 goose egg, but I'm trusting a bounce back game as he actually ran more routes this week than he did in the season opener. The tight end position is very volatile and it's important not to play whack-a-mole by only playing TEs off good games and fading TEs coming off bad ones (see T.J. Hockenson last week).
Graham has the highest touchdown odds among all the TEs available in 60% or fewer Yahoo leagues.
Kicker: Jake Elliott, Eagles
Matchup: vs. Lions
Ownership: 59%
Elliott checks in as my No. 5 kicker entering the week. The Eagles are touchdown favorites at home against the Lions (see live odds here), and with Alshon Jeffery and DeSean Jackson both banged up, the Eagles could take a more conservative approach once they enter enemy territory this week.
Instead of having Carson Wentz force the issue near the red zone, the Eagles might bank on ball control, their defense and their kicker to seal the win.
Defense: Green Bay Packers
Matchup: vs. Broncos
Ownership: 17%
The Packers open the week as my No. 4-ranked defense. Their revamped unit hasn't been a disappointment so far — it's a huge reason they're 2-0. They made Mitchell Trubisky's and Kirk Cousins' lives miserable in Weeks 1 and 2. Next up? Joe Flacco and the Broncos.
The Packers are available in 83% of Yahoo leagues as of writing and will be a popular streamer this week.
