While it appears the Georgia Bulldogs won't pull off the record for most first-round picks in a single year, they'll come awfully close, according to oddsmakers.
The record for most first rounders from a single program is six, which was set by the University of Miami in 2004-05 and matched by a 2020-21 Alabama team that touted eight All-Americans.
This year, the over/under odds on the amount of Georgia players to be selected in the first round in Thursday's NFL Draft is 4.5.
PointsBet is pricing that at o4.5 (+110), u4.5 (-140).
That means the sportsbook is expecting five or more Bulldogs players to be selected in the first round over 47% of the time. The book puts the probability that four or fewer are picked at 59%.
The four most likely candidates to be selected during the draft's first 32 picks are Travon Walker, Jordan Davis, Nakobe Dean and Devonte Wyatt.
Walker is the odds-on favorite to be selected first overall after prognosticators began predicting so on Monday. His odds as of Tuesday morning are around -225 — they had been around +3000 as recently as January.
Before Monday, his odds had hovered around +200. Michigan edge rusher Aidan Hutchinson had been the -300 favorite to be picked No. 1 overall before dropping to his current mark of +140 on account of the updated mock drafts.
Meanwhile, Davis, Dean and Wyatt are expected to go during the mid-to-late stages of Round 1.
Davis' odds to go in the first round are -1667 at PointsBet. Dean's are -200 while Wyatt's are -275.
The other three players that may be selected in the first round are Lewis Cine, George Pickens and Quay Walker.
Cine's over/under on draft position is 34.5, with the under at -135 and over at +105. Several mock drafts have Cine going No. 33 overall to the Jaguars with the first pick in the second round. Cine has -115 odds to be picked in the first.
Pickens' over/under is 36.5. The under is juiced to +110 while the over is -140. He has +130 odds to be selected in the first round.
Walker, meanwhile, has -125 odds to be picked in the first round. He doesn't have over/under odds at PointsBet.
