The CeeDee Lamb saga in Dallas has reportedly come to an end.
The Cowboys' talented wide receiver, who sat out the entire summer in a contract dispute, agreed to a four-year, $136 million extension on Monday, less than two weeks before Dallas opens its season at Cleveland.
As you might expect, there was a shift in the awards market, with the receiver's odds increasing slightly after the news broke on Monday.
Lamb was already one of the best wide receivers in the league but reached new heights a year ago. He finished third for Offensive Player of the Year behind 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey and Dolphins wideout Tyreek Hill, and is again pegged to finish just below those players this season. He’s +1100 at FanDuel while Hill leads the way at +800, followed by McCaffrey at +950.
Lamb also has the second-best odds to finish with the most receiving yards at +750. That’s just behind Hill (+700) but ahead of the Vikings' Justin Jefferson (+850), the Bengals' Ja'Marr Chase (+1100) and the Lions' Amon-Ra St. Brown. Lamb finished second in receiving yards with 1,749, just a hair behind Hill’s 1,799. St. Brown was a distant third with 1,515.
The total for Lamb’s receiving yards this season is 1,325.5 with both the over and under coming with a -112 vig. Lamb has eclipsed that mark in back-to-back seasons.
Meanwhile, Dak Prescott's favorite target is favored to lead the league in receiving touchdowns at +1000. He’s followed by Hill (+1100), the Jets' Garrett Wilson (+1500), Chase (+1600) and A.J. Brown (+1600) of the Eagles. Lamb, who had a double-digit TD total last year for the first time in his career, hauled in 12 touchdowns, ranking second in the NFL behind Hill and the Buccaneers' Mike Evans. The total Lamb's receiving touchdowns in 2024 is 9.5 with the over at +108 and the under -138.
Oddsmakers expect Lamb to be busy again in 2024 with his total receptions set at 105.5. The over and under are both offered at -112. He easily eclipsed that number last year with a league-leading 135 catches. That was well ahead of Hill and St. Brown, who tied for second with 119 catches. Lamb’s high volume is a big reason he hade so many receptions as he led the league with 181 targets
