Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert suffered an ankle injury last week against the Panthers and is questionable to face the Steelers on Sunday.

And news of the severity of his injury on Friday sent odds for the game tumbling.

Herbert told reporters after practice that the state of his ankle was "not great." He also walked with a limp after his press conference.

The Chargers saw their odds fall from a market-best +1.5, to a current consensus of +3 on account of the news. On the moneyline, they had been as short as +110, but now find themselves roughly +130 across the market.

In a corresponding move, the Steelers are now -3 after having been close to a pick 'em earlier in the week. On the moneyline, their best market odds as of Friday night are -143 at BetRivers, down from as low as -115 earlier in the week.

The total for this game has fallen to a consensus of 34.5, far lower than any other contest on the docket.

Herbert said Friday that he was still optimistic about his progress.

"Thankfully, it's only Friday," Herbert said. "It is what it is. It's all about getting treatment and making sure that it's at its best and doing everything I can to limit the swelling, limit the pain and just keep things moving forward."
