Travis Kelce's performance on his player props are noticeably different when Taylor Swift is in the stands compared to when she isn't. Apparently he knows it too.
"When I mention or everybody knows she's at the game … the over/under on my catches goes up and down, the spread goes up and down," Kelce joked when asked if Swift would be in attendance for Dolphins vs. Chiefs in Germany. "I don't want to mess with any of that stuff so I'll just keep it to myself.
While Kelce was looking to dodge the media attention on his love life with his joke, it seems even he realized the Swift effect is real. The last time Swift attended a Chiefs game in Week 7, the tight end caught nine passes for 143 yards and a touchdown in the first half alone. He finished with 179 yards on 12 catches, crushing his anytime touchdown, reception (6.5) and receiving yards prop (71.5) with ease.
Other player on the Chiefs seem to be embracing getting Kelce involved more when Swift is at Chiefs games. Patrick Mahomes acknowledged in his postgame interview against the Bears that he was looking to get Kelce a score.
In the four Chiefs games that Swift has attended, Kelce has gone over his receptions prop three times, over his receiving yards prop once (twice) and scored a touchdown (twice). The only game she attended where he went under on all three was against the Jets.
And when Swift isn't at the games? Well, in Week 8, without the pop star in attendance, Kelce had just six catches for 58 yards in the Chiefs' lowest-scoring game of the season.
We'll let you be the judge of whether it was a coincidence or not. Swift has a show on Nov. 3 for her record-setting Eras Tour and begins the international leg of the tour in Argentina Nov. 9.
