Week 1 of the NFL season gives us the much-anticipated look at some of the top first-year players, especially those in the running for Rookie of the Year awards.
Commanders receiver Jahan Dotson made arguably the best first impression.
Washington's first-round pick (No. 16 overall) hauled in a pair of touchdowns in the team's 28-22 win over the Jaguars, including the go-ahead score to give the Commanders the cover (-2.5) and push the total over the closing number of 43.5.
Entering Week 1, Dotson was +2000 to win Offensive Rookie of the Year, which was tied for the 11th-shortest odds in the field. Steelers QB Kenny Pickett and Jets RB Breece Hall were some of the popular preseason bets (View the full odds board here!).
Four wide receivers were drafted before Dotson, who played his college football at Penn State. He finished his NFL debut with three catches for 40 yards and the aforementioned two touchdowns.

Jahan Dotson Fantasy Football Rankings
Action Network fantasy experts Sean Koerner and Chris Raybon tabbed Dotson as consensus WR65 entering Week 1; the former slotted the rookie WR60, the latter WR70.
Terry McLaurin — who, for context, is WR16 in the experts' consensus rankings — entered the year as the top receiving option in Washington's offense.
However, "F1" only recorded two catches on four targets among Carson Wentz' 41 pass attempts Sunday.
Meanwhile, Curtis Samuel led the Commanders in both targets (11) and catches (8).
