If you've been paying attention to Eagles prop markets this season, Jahan Dotson has been an intriguing player.
A former first-round pick, Dotson's talent has always been hyped up, but it has never turned into meaningful production on the field. A trade to Philadelphia meant he was going to be an afterthought in this offense for most of the season.
That doesn't mean we can't bet his overs. Here's how we're doing so for the Super Bowl.
Jahan Dotson Player Props
If you’re looking for an ugly sweat on Super Bowl Sunday, let me introduce you to Jahan Dotson.
Dotson was the Commanders’ first-round pick in 2022, but injuries plagued his rookie season and he never really got going in Washington. He was traded to Philadelphia before the season and underwhelmed.
Dotson appeared in all 17 Eagles games this season and had just 19 receptions for 216 receiving yards. Those stats are also skewed by his seven catches for 94 yards in the Eagles’ regular-season finale that saw most key starters sit. His connection with third-string QB Tanner McKee was impressive, though.
In 20 total games, Dotson has a catch in 12 of them. He caught a touchdown pass on the Eagles’ first drive of the Wild Card Round against the Packers, but he hasn’t since.
Both of our experts, though, like Dotson’s chances of getting a catch against the Chiefs. Sean Koerner has Dotson projected for 0.9 receptions, while Chris Raybon has him at 1.1.
That is the market to bet on for Dotson if you’re going to. You can get his yardage total at 0.5 at BetMGM, but his targets don’t come too far down the field a lot of the time. Dotson has had a negative average depth of target (aDOT) twice this season, and it has also been 0.5 twice.
This would also be a bet to potentially target if you think the Eagles will be facing a trailing game script against the Chiefs. Philadelphia will want to win the game through its rushing attack, but Dotson might be the beneficiary of a more pass-heavy game script than expected.
A.J. Brown could be in for a big game against a Chiefs team that ranked 26th in DVOA against opposing WR1s during the regular season, and DeVonta Smith is as reliable a WR2 as you can get in the NFL. Dallas Goedert has also been a popular pick for overs over the past couple of weeks before this game.
Dotson is the player who we don't need much from, just one catch.
Pick: Jahan Dotson Over 0.5 Receptions (-132, FanDuel)
