The Offensive Rookie of the Year race has been tight over the first month of the season.
Caleb Williams, Marvin Harrison Jr. and Malik Nabers all had their moments at the top. However, Jayden Daniels' tremendous back-to-back games has him as the heaviest favorite of the season to date. In fact, he’s the first player to reach negative odds.
Daniels is -120 at DraftKings after leading the Commanders to a 42-14 beatdown of the Cardinals as a 3.5-point dog. He completed 26-of-30 passes for 233 yards and one touchdown as well eight carries for 47 yards and another score on the ground.
This comes on the heels of last week’s breakthrough primetime appearance on Monday Night Football. Daniels went 21-for-23 for 254 yards and two touchdowns while running the ball 12 times for 29 yards and a rushing touchdown as Washington upset the Bengals, 38-33, as a 7.5-point dog.
Daniels is not only off to one of the best four-game starts to a season for a rookie quarterback, he’s off to one of the best four-game starts to a season by any quarterback, period. His 82.1% completion percentage is the best through the first four games of anyone with at least 40 passes. He’s also been a revelation on the ground as his 218 rushing yards are the second-most by a QB through the first four games of a season, as well.
Additionally, Daniels completed over 85% of his passes in Washington’s wins over the Bengals and Cardinals. He is the first quarterback in NFL history to have back-to-back games completing at least 85% or more with at least 15 attempts in each game.
Meanwhile, Malik Nabers has the second-best odds at +250. The Giants’ wide receiver has 35 catches on the year for 386 yards and three touchdowns. Harrison Jr. (+425), Williams (+650) and Xavier Worthy (+1500) round out the top five.
