Jets Next Head Coach Odds
The Jets fired Robert Saleh and are looking for a new head coach. And the market thinks Aaron Rodgers is within the realm of possibilities.
Yes, really. DraftKings posted odds on who the next permanent head coach for the Jets will be and Rodgers' odds are listed at +10000.
Rodgers is effectively the head of the offense as it stands, with full latitude to call his own plays and change personnel. His confidant, Nathaniel Hackett, is the offensive coordinator, on paper.
Curiously enough, Hackett (+5000) has similar odds to Rodgers to become the franchise's next head coach.
(A note here to indicate that these odds at DraftKings are only available in the following states or provinces: West Virginia, Indiana, New Hampshire, Colorado, Michigan, Illinois, Oregon, Wyoming, Arizona, Louisiana, Ontario, Kansas, Maryland, Maine and North Carolina.)
The favorites include Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson — who eschewed the Commanders to stay at his post in Detroit — former Titans coach Mike Vrabel, current interim coach Jeff Ulbrich and Texans offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik.
In addition, the above chart skips over all potential candidates between odds of +2200 and +10000. Some notable names on that list include former Alabama coach Nick Saban (+2500), Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore (+2500), former USC and Seahawks coach Pete Carroll (+5000), former Jets coach Rex Ryan (+8000) and UCLA associate head coach Eric Bieniemy (+4000).
