Ahead of the first Monday Night Football of the 2024 NFL season and the conclusion of NFL Week 1, here are the three best Jets vs 49ers player props available before the 8:15 p.m. ET kickoff on ESPN on Monday, Sept. 9.
Sam Farley's 3 Jets vs 49ers Player Props
- Deebo Samuel Over 10.5 Rushing Yards (-123, DraftKings)
- Brock Purdy Over 0.5 Interceptions (+100, FanDuel)
- Mike Williams Under 30.5 Receiving Yards (-120, DraftKings)
With question marks surrounding the health of Christian McCaffrey, we have to consider where else the 49ers might get rushing yards if CMC isn't at his best. Elijah Mitchell is on injured reserve, which means Jordan Mason is McCaffrey's primary backup.
If McCaffrey isn’t at 100%, it might mean head coach Kyle Shanahan delves into his box of tricks, which should see Deebo Samuel have a great chance to cover his line of 10.5 rushing yards.
It’s a line that has already moved to 12.5 at some sportsbooks, and it’s easy to understand why, with Samuel getting 11-plus rushing yards in nine regular season games last year.
Even if McCaffrey is good to go on Monday Night Football, there’s still a very real chance of Samuel going over.
Pick: Deebo Samuel Over 10.5 Rushing Yards (-123)
The Jets managed seven wins last year — incredibly impressive considering their unideal quarterback situation. That was largely down to their defense, and in particular a secondary that is arguably the best in the NFL.
Purdy only got picked off 11 times in the regular season last year and he protected the football, but against top-tier defenses he did struggle, giving up five interceptions against the Ravens and Browns combined.
The Jets are in that echelon of talent. We have a chance to double our money on a Purdy interception, especially with question marks around the health of his star RB.
Pick: Brock Purdy Over 0.5 Interceptions (+100)
The chance to see this Jets offense with Rodgers under center is truly exciting, especially since they added Mike Williams this offseason. The former Charger is a talented, big-bodied receiver who is a legitimate red-zone threat.
He’s somebody that Rodgers will love to throw to. However, we need to be careful with expectations and consider two things.
First, Williams is returning from an ACL tear. Even though he’s back on the field, we don't quite know how explosive he is at the moment. Second is his QB — Rodgers is notorious for having his "go-to" guys. Has Williams done enough to earn that trust yet?
Take the under on Williams' receiving yards against this stout Niners defense.
