Bears incumbent starting quarterback Justin Fields is in a precarious position. While the regime remains the same in Chicago, Fields hasn't necessarily shown enough through his first three seasons to warrant big money, longterm commitment.

The Bears have until May to determine whether they want to take a roughly $23 million, fifth-year option on the QB out of Ohio State — after they decide what to do with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.

And it's a QB heavy draft. While USC quarterback Caleb Williams is the presumptive No. 1 pick, solid prospects like North Carolina QB Drake Maye and Washington QB Michael Penix Jr. lurk in the balance.

If the Bears determine that it'll be better to restart with a QB with a higher ceiling — and the cap flexibility that a rookie deal provides — Fields will be the primetime trade candidate of the offseason.

But, if the Bears still believe Fields is a top quarterback, Chicago would trade back and beef up their already elite defense with the extra draft capital. And it could reinforce its shaky offense.

So it all hangs in the balance. And that's what the odds board has determined, too.

Justin Fields Next Team Odds

Odds according to DraftKings in select states. The market will be void if Fields does not take a snap the entire season. Market will settle when Fields takes a snap during the 2024 NFL season.

The Falcons — the second-best favorites — are among the favorites to land Russell Wilson, too. There's a new regime in the A and they're looking for a new quarterback.

Same goes for the Raiders, who will move on from Jimmy Garoppolo and Aidan O'Connell.
