Kadarius Toney entered Week 6 dealing with an ankle injury, and his status during pre-game warmups has put his fantasy football expectations into question.
According to beat writers on the scene, Toney appeared to favor his ankle, including a trip while running routes.
It didn't take long for that ankle to flare up. Early in the first half, the team ruled Toney out with that right ankle injury.
Prior to warmups, Toney was ranked No. 41 for wide receivers in standard scoring leagues and No. 40 in PPR leagues. This is according to The Action Network's fantasy football Week 6 rankings.
The Giants rookie wide receiver is coming off a breakout performance against the Dallas Cowboys, when he caught 10 passes on 13 targets for 189 yards. With Kenny Golladay out, there are more passes that can head Toney's way — at least in theory.
The other consideration when planning for Toney in fantasy football on Sunday is the quarterback. Daniel Jones is expected to start after leaving last week's game with an apparent injury.
Mike Glennon is New York's backup and played the entire second half against the Cowboys with Jones sidelined.
Also, Giants running back Saquon Barkley will not play which opens up rushing opportunities for Toney when healthy. Toney rushed once for seven yards in Week 5.
New York is a 7.5-point favorite at home against the Los Angeles Rams with a total of 49. Click here for real-time odds in the market.
Other options for the Giants offense include Sterling Shepherd, who is ranked No. 37 for wide receivers this week. Devontae Booker is RB17 with Barkley out.
Players just behind Toney in our rankings include Allen Robinson, Henry Ruggs, Darnell Mooney and Rondale Moore.
