The Kansas City Chiefs (5-0) and San Francisco 49ers (3-3) will kick off NFL Week 7's Sunday late afternoon slate. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:25 p.m. ET from Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif., on FOX. The game can be streamed live on YouTube TV and other streaming platforms.

The 49ers are consensus 2.5-point favorites over the Chiefs on the spread (49ers -2.5), with the over/under currently at 48 points. San Francisco is -141 on the moneyline to win outright, while Kansas City is +120 to pull off the slight upset.

The Chiefs, who are coming off their bye week, have allowed just 40 points in their last 3 wins. The 49ers won 36-24 over the Seahawks last week, with Brock Purdy throwing for 255 and 3 touchdowns. San Francisco also ran for 228 yards as a team.

Let's get into my Chiefs vs. 49ers predictions and my NFL picks for Sunday Week 7.

Chiefs vs. 49ers Picks and Predictions

Prediction

  • My pick: 49ers -1.5

My 49ers vs. Chiefs best bet is on San Francisco to cover the spread. For all of your NFL bets, be sure to find the best lines by using our live NFL odds page.

Spread

Overall, I think San Francisco is the better team here. The Niners are coming off of a mini bye after an impressive win in Week 6 on Thursday night over the Seahawks, and the offense looks like it's thriving. While Kansas City is coming off of its bye week, I simply believe it's the inferior team.

I'll lay the point and a half and bet on the 49ers.

Moneyline

I'm focused on betting the 49ers on the spread here.

Over/Under

I have no bet on the game total for this one.

My pick: 49ers -1.5

Chiefs vs. 49ers NFL Week 7 Preview

I’m fading Patrick Mahomes as an underdog.

I have the 49ers power ranked as the No. 1 team in the NFL, and this spread is below what it was for the Super Bowl. While Kansas City, despite its undefeated record, is a worse team, I don’t think San Francisco is.

Offensively, the Chiefs are nowhere near where they were when they won that game over the 49ers back in February. First off, Travis Kelce is not the player he was back then. Also, Kansas City won’t have Isiah Pacheco in the backfield or Rashee Rice at wide receiver. Those are Mahomes’ two most important weapons, both out for this game.

On the other side, you’re getting a better price on the 49ers at home as the more desperate team with revenge for the Super Bowl on their mind. While the Chiefs are two games ahead in the division and riding high, the 49ers are tied with the Seahawks for the NFC West lead. They need this game much more than the Chiefs do.

The Chiefs are 5-0 could could easily be 2-3 if you change three plays. In Week 1, Isaiah Likely’s toe ended a thrilling Chiefs win, then K.C. was very fortunate with a late pass interference penalty that powered a win over the Bengals. Then, in Atlanta, there was a bogus pass interference in the end zone that wasn’t called.

San Francisco, on the other hand, has won all three of its games by double digits. The Chiefs have four one-possession wins. The 49ers’ point differential is just one point worse than the Chiefs’ plus-33.

The Chiefs offense looked a little better ahead of the bye week in the win over the Saints, but I’m not sure how impressive that necessarily is after New Orleans turned around and let the Buccaneers drop 50 points on it at home. While Kansas City looked better, it didn’t seem like its problems were fixed.

When comparing the offenses, I trust the 49ers much more. While Christian McCaffrey and Jordan Mason are dealing with injuries, we saw Isaac Guerendo thrive against the Seahawks. I also think this passing attack is just going to get better as the season goes along. We’ve also already seen Lamar Jackson and Joe Burrow carve this Chiefs defense up, so I trust Brock Purdy can, too.

I know Andy Reid is coming off of a bye week, but the 49ers are coming off of a mini break after playing on Thursday Night Football in Week 6. San Francisco will have had this game circled for a long time, and I think it’ll get the job done at home.

Pick: 49ers -1.5
