Let's get into my Buccaneers vs Raiders prediction and NFL picks.

The Raiders lost 19-17 last week to the Chiefs and have lost 8 straight games. Aidan O’Connell impressed, though, with 340 passing yards and 2 touchdowns. The Buccaneers won 26-23 in overtime over the Panthers. Bucky Irving was the star with 152 rushing yards, while Rachaad White added 76 more.

Against the Spread

This one isn’t pretty, but I'm taking the points with the Raiders.

This is a good spot to fade Tampa Bay as well, as I lay out below.

My Pick: Raiders +6.5

Las Vegas Raiders vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Raiders are traveling across the country, but they are also coming off extended rest after playing on Black Friday. This team was ravaged by injuries in the middle of the season and is now as healthy as it has been all season.

On the other side, you have a Buccaneers team that is coming off a dramatic overtime win that saw its offense play 80 snaps and its defense 70. The reason that’s important is RB Bucky Irving and QB Baker Mayfield both left that game banged up.

At one point, Mayfield had to miss a few plays, during which Kyle Trask attempted a pass.

I don’t know if Mayfield will be 100%, but he sure didn’t look like it last week against the Panthers. He reverted to some old Mayfield plays, forcing passes with questionable throws.

Irving, meanwhile, has taken over the Buccaneers backfield — he had 28 touches last week.

The one thing the Raiders defense does well is defend the run; they rank second in rush EPA over the last three games.

On the other side of the ball, the Raiders' run game doesn’t matter much and it’s unlikely to be a significant part of their offense. Sincere McCormick looked better than what Las Vegas has gotten from its backfield all season, but Aidan O’Connell is the focal point of this offense right now.

Gardner Minshew won the Raiders’ starting quarterback job out of camp, but this offense seems to work better with O'Connell under center. He can hit the deep ball, as he did last week on a beautiful touchdown to Tre Tucker. This offense has more of a big-play threat with O’Connell.

Star rookie TE Brock Bowers is going to get the ball no matter what, and Jakobi Meyers has at least 97 receiving yards in each of the Raiders’ last two games.

O’Connell is 9-3-1 against the spread in his career, covering by 7.1 points per game. On the road, he’s 5-1 and covering by 6.3 points per game.

I think the Raiders can hang in this game and put up some points. Few teams are able to go into Kansas City and outgain the Chiefs by more than 100 yards, as they did last week.

The defense matches up well with Tampa Bay as well, so I’ll take the points with the Raiders.

My Pick: Raiders +6.5
