Brock Purdy is now the clear favorite to win NFL Most Valuable Player. The San Francisco 49ers quarterback is currently -190 to win the award at BetMGM.
But if you ask him, he says that it should go to his teammate.
"I think Christian (McCaffrey) should be MVP," Purdy said. "I really do believe that. He does everything for us … and so in my eyes that's an MVP."
This was 30 minutes removed from a 45-29 beatdown of the Arizona Cardinals. McCaffrey finished with 115 yards on the ground and 72 yards through the air with three total touchdowns.
McCaffrey has a massive lead among NFL all-purpose yards leaders by averaging 128.6 yards per game. It's hard to argue he is not the best player on the 49ers. But the MVP is known for being a quarterback award, which is why Purdy is still the favorite.
McCaffrey has slowly been moving up the odds board, however. He is now +1200 to win MVP at DraftKings. He opened at +10000 to win MVP and he was +2000 last week at BetMGM.
Lamar Jackson is behind Purdy at +450 to win MVP like Dak Prescott, last week's favorite, also now +450.
