The Lions are holding their collective breath Sunday after tight end Sam LaPorta suffered what appeared to be a knee injury in the final game of the regular season. LaPorta caught a pass near the end of he second quarter and appeared to hyperextend his knee on the play as he was being tackled. After lying on the ground, the medical staff came to attend to LaPorta, but he was eventually carted off after walking to the sideline.
LaPorta is listed as questionable to return for the rest of the game. The Lions need a win, a Cowboys loss and an Eagles loss to move up to the No. 2 seed, but can finish no lower than third.
LaPorta, who was named to the Pro Bowl this season would be difficult to replace if he can't go in the NFL Playoffs. He ranks second on the team in catches (88) and receiving yards (889) and leads the team in touchdowns (10) after scoring on Sunday.
This is a developing story.
