The man they call “Mattress Mack” usually likes to back Texas teams. On Friday, though, he placed a $2 million bet on the New England Patriots to win the Super Bowl at two Penn-owned sportsbooks, Barstool and The Score.

The two bets at 23/1 odds was revealed on Twitter by Dave Portnoy. The Action Network confirmed the authenticity of the bets.

One bet at Barstool was for $1.25 million, while the wager at The Score was $750,000. The two bets in aggregate would return $46 million to Houston furniture magnate, whose real name is Jim McIngvale.

“I just thought it was a value price,” Mack told The Action Network. “And the Pats are like the Astros for me, they of course have been there before.”

Mack recently missed out on a $35.6 million payout when the Houston Astros lost to the Atlanta Braves in the World Series. The money was going to be used to cover a promotion that would give customers free mattresses if the Astros won.

Counting Thursday night’s 25-0 drubbing of the Atlanta Falcons, the Patriots have now won five in a row and now have a 7-4 record.

Mack isn’t alone in his love for the Pats. Earlier this week, a bettor at BetMGM plunked down $10,000 on New England to hoist the Lombardi Trophy, although that was at 25/1.
