Week 10 of the NFL season concludes with a Monday Night Football NFC East clash between the Washington Commanders and Philadelphia Eagles.
I have three players to target in this game. These players aren’t the flashiest of names and are more bargain-bin guys who could surprise.
WR Zach Pascal, Eagles
Pascal is a sneaky play against a Washington defense that plays man coverage at the sixth-highest rate in the league.
Per PFF, Pascal is second on the team in yards per route against man (3.25), behind only A.J. Brown (3.85). He has caught all five of his targets versus man for 78 yards and a TD.
And according to Football Outsiders, the Commanders rank 28th in DVOA on passes to non-No. 1/2 wide receivers. When these teams met in Week 3, Pascal posted season highs in routes run (15), targets (3) and catches (3).
TE John Bates, Commanders
The Eagles are known to play a lot of zone coverage, which sets up well for Bates, who is third on the Commanders with 1.72 yards per route run against zone.
A team-high 86% of his targets have come against zone. With Darius Slay and James Bradberry patrolling the outside, Taylor Heinicke may have to rely on his interior targets more.
TE Armani Rogers, Commanders
For those same reasons above, I also like Rogers, who is fourth on the team in yards per route versus zone (1.51).
The versatile rookie can line up anywhere on the field and has even taken a wildcat snap in the red zone. Last week, he got loose for 24 yards on a jet sweep.
After touching the ball once over the first six weeks of the season, the former college QB has touched the ball at least once in each of the past three weeks with Heinicke at the helm.
