EveryNFL team has thousands of dedicated supporters across the country, and emotions can run wild when your team underperforms. Social media gets flooded with moody messages after every NFL game from fans of the losing team; but now that the 2024-25 season has drawn to a close with the Eagles’ recent Super Bowl win, which team had the most easily upset fans this season?
We monitored more than 10 million social media posts on X and Reddit after every game of the season and totaled up how many moody messages were left by fans of each team. Ready to see where your fanbase ranks? Here are the teams with the moodiest fans of the most recent season:
The NFL’s Moodiest Losers
Sometimes, it’s hard to resist the urge to take your anger out on your team on social media. These teams’ fans were the most likely to post moody comments when their team took a loss in the regular season:
#1: Baltimore Ravens
TheBaltimore Ravens rank as the fanbase most likely to be upset on social media after a loss. With 930,460 moody posts from fans this season, 426,360 were made after being beaten.
The Ravens finished the regular season with a 12-5 record before picking up another win over the Steelers in the playoffs and eventually being knocked out by the Bills. With six total losses in the regular and post-season, their fans made an average of 71,060 moody social media posts after each defeat.
Their game against the Bills in the playoffs ranked as the most frustrating loss of the 2024-25 season, with more than 150,000 negative posts cropping up shortly after. On the other hand, a Week 8 loss to the Cleveland Browns generated only 39,140 angry comments, making it the least frustrating loss for Bills fans.
#2: Kansas City Chiefs
After a resounding loss in the Super Bowl against the Eagles, it’s hard not to be moody as aChiefs fan right now. KC fans posted a total of 558,890 negative posts this season, but only 133,020 came after losses as the Chiefs only dropped three games since the start of the regular season.
However, with so few losses, the Chiefs fanbase averaged 44,340 moody posts per defeat, making them the second most likely to leave an angry comment after taking an L. As expected, the Super Bowl caused the most upset among fans, with 109,540 angry posts in the two days following their failure to capture a three-peat of Lombardi Trophies.
In comparison, their loss to the Denver Broncos led to just 6,180 angry fan posts, making it their least frustrating loss for fans this season.
#3: Buffalo Bills
For most of the 2024-25 season, things were looking great for theBuffalo Bills – they entered the playoffs with a 13-4 record, topping their AFC East division, and earned a spot in the conference finals. However, a loss to the Chiefs put an end to their Super Bowl hopes.
Negative posts from Bills fans totaled 537,800 on social media since the start of the regular season, with 178,040 coming after losses. This gives them an average of 35,608 moody posts from each lost game, ranking them third on our list.
Unsurprisingly, the AFC Championship Game defeat led to the most upset social media posts from fans, as 113,000 members of the Bills Mafia took to X and Reddit to voice their anger. Incidentally, a loss to the Patriots in Week 18 was the least upsetting loss for fans, though, as only 6,780 angry posts were made in the days following the result.
#4: Detroit Lions
With a 15-2 regular season record, theLions had the most wins vs losses in the whole NFC North, but defeat at the hands of the Washington Commanders sent them home from the playoffs in the first round. Their fans posted a total of 427,360 moody comments this season, with 101,440 coming after losses. This adds up to an average of 33,813 negative posts per defeat.
Their playoff loss generated 63,940 angry posts, making it their most frustrating defeat of the season. On the other hand, a second-week loss to the Tampa Bay Bucs led to just 7,120 upset comments – the least upsetting bad result in the Lions’ season.
#5: Pittsburgh Steelers
Rounding out the top five,Steelers fans have continued to voice their frustrations with the team’s coaching staff and management throughout the 2024-25 season. Fans left 435,320 total negative comments after their games, of which 236,940 came after their 8 losses since the regular season began.
On average, a Steelers loss led to 29,618 frustrated social media comments. Their Wild Card knockout at the hands of the Baltimore Ravens generated the most backlash, with 46,240 moody posts in the aftermath. The Steelers’ first loss of the season against the Colts in Week 4 led to the fewest angry comments (19,420).
The NFL’s Moodiest Winners
Even when your favorite team wins, you might still have problems with their play on the field. These were the teams with the fans who were the moodiest even after a positive result:
#1: Baltimore Ravens
Taking the top spot on both lists, Ravens fans clearly had a lot to say about their team’s performance this year. In fact, the team’s fanbase left more angry posts after wins than losses!
Ravens supporters made 504,100 negative posts across the 2024-25 season after the team’s wins, averaging 38,777 per victory. This makes them the team with the most angry posts from fans per win.
The heaviest criticism came following the team’s Wild Card round W against the Pittsburgh Steelers, with 76,120 negative posts in total over the following days. Beating the New York Giants in Week 15 led to the least backlash from fans, however, as only 14,160 angry comments were left.
#2: Philadelphia Eagles
Following finals, thePhiladelphia Eagles are your reigning NFL champions after a dominant victory over the Chiefs in New Orleans. Surprisingly, this thunderous victory actually led to the most negative posts from Eagles fans of the whole season, with 143,080 upset comments being left in the days following when they lifted the trophy.
The average Eagles victory last season generated 34,507 moody social media posts, for a total of 621,130 across all games. Prior to their second Super Bowl win, Jalen Hurts’ performance as a quarterback had been heavily criticized by fans, leading to unrest on social media – even when the Eagles were getting wins.
A Week 18 win over the New York Giants generated the least controversy, with just 5,080 angry comments left on social media following the result.
#3: San Francisco 49ers
Finishing at the bottom of their division this season with a 6-11 record, it’s been a tough year to be a49ers fan, and the negativity following their wins reflects that. Out of a total of 417,740 negative social media posts in the 2024-25 season, fans left 175,320 after winning efforts. This means an average of 29,220 were left after each victory.
A Week 14 win against the Chicago Bears drew the least fire from fans, with only 10,160 negative comments making it to social media, while 70,280 fans broadcast their frustration with a winning result against the Cowboys in Week 8 – the most of any 49ers game, including losses.
#4: Kansas City Chiefs
Even the back-to-back champs weren’t immune to scrutiny from fans this year. Toward the end of the season, the Chiefs had the lowest point difference ever recorded for a team with as many wins as they achieved, meaning most of their victories were narrowly won instead of dominant displays.
This frustrated many fans, who posted 425,870 angry comments after their 17 wins across the season, averaging 25,051 per victory. The conference finals drew the most heat for the Chiefs, as 92,220 fans voiced their anger on the internet, while 5,500 complained about a Week 15 win over the Browns.
#5: Buffalo Bills
Finally, Buffalo Bills fans round out our top five teams most likely to post upset social media comments after a win. With 23,984 negative posts left online after each victory on average, there were a total of 359,760 moody responses to the Bills’ wins this year.
Outside of the team’s five losses over the course of the 2024-25 regular and post-season, their division championship win over the Baltimore Ravens led to the most upset from fans. Fans made 56,480 negative comments in the wake of the win, compared to their least controversial win against the Titans in Week 7, drawing just 7,620 moody responses.

Methodology
To identify the NFL’s moodiest fan bases during the 2024-25 season, Action Network analyzed negative social media posts on X and Reddit after all 285 games.
Posts were collected from both the day of the game and the following day, regardless of whether the team won or lost.
Posts were then categorized by game outcome, allowing us to calculate the average number of negative posts after a win versus a loss.
In total, over 10.1 million negative posts were analyzed.
