This article contains predictions for an old game.

The New England Patriots (1-5) and Jacksonville Jaguars (1-5) will kick off NFL Week 7's Sunday slate with our third straight NFL London Game. Kickoff is set for 9:30 a.m. ET. from Wembley Stadium in London on NFL Network. The game can be streamed live on YouTube TV and other streaming platforms.

The Jaguars are consensus 6.5-point favorites over the Patriots (Jaguars -6.5), with the over/under currently at 42 points scored. Jacksonville is -285 on the moneyline to win outright, while New England is +230 to pull off the upset.

It is raining in London, with winds gusting from 15 to 18 mph, but the odds have not moved based on the weather. In injury news, the Jaguars are without RB Travis Etienne Jr., while Patriots RB Rhamondre Stevenson will play.

The Patriots have lost 5 straight games after a 41-21 loss to the Texans last week. Drake Maye threw for 243 passing yards, 3 touchdowns and 2 interceptions in his first NFL start. The Jaguars lost 35-16 last week to the Bears and will play their second straight game in London this week. Trevor Lawrence threw for 234 yards and a touchdown against Chicago, but the Jags ran for just 3.4 yards per carry.

Let's get into my Patriots vs. Jaguars predictions and my NFL picks and predictions for today's NFL London Game.

  • My pick: Patriots to cover the spread (Bet to +6)

My Jaguars vs. Patriots best bet is on New England to over the spread. I bet this all Patriots +6, and as of early Sunday morning, the best odds for my bet are Patriots +6.5.

Spread

The sharp bet on this game is to take the points with the Patriots. The majority of bets and money are on New England, and Action PRO also has a trend that indicates it's a spot for the Pats to cover coming off of a blowout loss as an underdog.

Moneyline

I have no recommendation to bet either moneyline in this game.

Over/Under

Our projections are in line with this game's total.

My pick: Patriots +6.5 (Bet to +6)

Patriots vs. Jaguars Betting Trends to Know

  • 83% of bets and 77% of the money are on the over.
  • 82% of bets and 64% of the money on the moneyline are on the Jaguars to win.

Patriots vs. Jaguars NFL London Game Preview

Neither team's season has gone well, although it's difficult to say the Patriots' campaign has gone any differently than expected. Jacoby Brissett started the season under the center and underwhelmed before Drake Maye inevitably took over.

Maye's first start against the Texans last week went pretty well, all things considered. He was held back to start the season because of a shaky Patriots offensive line and while he was sacked four times by an impressive Texans front seven, he went 20-of-33 for 243 yards, 3 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. Maye also ran for 38 yards.

While New England fans could have reasonably expected to be 1-5, Jaguars faithful will have had higher expectations. Jacksonville started 0-4 before beating the Patriots and being blown out last week by the Bears.

Trevor Lawrence has only committed three turnovers this season through six games, but he's completing just 60.7% of passes. The Jacksonville run game, though, has been boosted by Tank Bigsby's breakout. The second-year running back is averaging 7.2 yards per carry on 41 totes this season, and he might be in for a bigger role after Travis Etienne suffered a hamstring injury last week in the loss to Chicago.

By PJ Walsh

While the over/under pick might present the opportunity for the smartest Patriots vs. Jaguars bet according to Action PRO, Sunday morning’s spread is showing plenty of value as well.

After getting smoked by the Texans, 41-21, last weekend, the Patriots may not look all that enticing for their matchup with the Jaguars in London.

However, as an underdog of three or more points coming off a loss of at least 20 points, New England is a match for Action PRO’s Dogs After Blowout System that has produced a 335-249-13 (57%) against-the-spread win rate dating back to the 2003 season.

Is this an ugly play? Yes. But is it the right play? History also says yes.

Pick: Patriots +6
