The New York Giants (0-1) and Washington Commanders (0-1) will kick off the Sunday afternoon slate of NFL Week 2, with Giants vs. Commanders set for 1 p.m. ET from Northwest Stadium in Landover, Maryland, on FOX, and the game can be streamed live on YouTube TV.

The Commanders are consensus 1.5-point favorites (-1.5) over the Giants as of Sunday morning, after Washington opened at -2.5. The over/under is currently 43.5 points scored, with the Commanders slight -125 favorites on the moneyline and the Giants slight +105 underdogs to win outright.

Giants fans will be hugely discouraged after a Daniel Jones performance in Week 1 that was a nightmare-level scenario, as New York lost 28-6 to the Vikings. The Commanders lost in Tampa 26-9, but Jayden Daniels scored a pair of rushing touchdowns and showed great promise in his first NFL start.

Let's get into my Giants vs. Commanders prediction and my NFL picks and predictions for Week 2 on Sunday.

NFL Week 2 Preview

By Matt Trebby

Both of these NFC East rivals lost in Week 1, but one side will feel more optimistic than the other.

There was nothing for Giants fans to feel good about after Week 1. New York ranks 25th in Defensive DVOA and 29th on offense after its loss to the Vikings. Nothing went right.

There were already concerns about the offense without Saquon Barkley, and Daniel Jones did nothing to prove those wrong. He was 22-of-42 for 186 and two interceptions. He even only ran for 15 yards.

The Commanders lost in Tampa Bay, but they can take solace in the fact that Jayden Daniels showed plenty of promise.

The No. 2 overall pick in this year’s draft averaged 7.7 yards per attempt and went 17-of-24 through the air, but he did the most damage on the ground. Daniels ran 16 times for 88 yards and two touchdowns. He’ll need to learn to slide and hold onto the football more after fumbling twice, but it was clear that Daniels will be a playmaker at the professional level.

Best Bet for Giants vs. Commanders

By Alex Kolodziej

It might sound unappealing at first, but the smart play could be on the New York Giants this Sunday in Week 2, despite their devastating blowout loss last week.

PRO Systems are particularly favorable towards the Giants in their matchup against the Commanders Sunday

The "Road Dog, Low Total After Bad Season" system targets teams who are undervalued based on their poor performance the previous year. This system hones in on slight underdogs (getting +4 points or less) in games with totals below 46 points. Statistics show that teams meeting these criteria tend to cover the spread during the initial six weeks if they won six or fewer games the previous season. The Giants fall perfectly into this category.

Also, there's added value in taking the Giants to win outright, currently priced at +105 on the moneyline.

This is further reinforced by the "Early Season Upsets" PRO System. This strategy advises betting on divisional underdogs on the moneyline within the first three weeks if these teams are under 0-5.5 against the spread. The unpredictable nature of early-season games, especially within the division, increases the likelihood of thee underdogs pulling off a surprise win.

Once again, the Giants fit this profile, making them a compelling bet for a potential upset this Sunday in Jayden Daniels' home debut.

Pick: Giants ML +105
