NFL preseason games are already a bit sloppy. Throw in some rain, wind or other volatile weather patterns and the Ugly Meter could reach a whole new tipping point.
Bettors dabbling on Thursday's Raiders vs. Jaguars Hall of Fame game: Consider this your heads-up if you haven't already peeped the forecast.
NFL Hall of Fame Game Weather Forecast
The two AFC squads meet in Canton, Ohio, at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium. Weather reports around the area show thunderstorms in the late afternoon, with the possibility of "strong, gusty winds" topping out at 10 mph.
There's a 60% chance of rain and scattered storms creeping into the evening, though winds are lighter, peaking at 6 mph. The Raiders and Jaguars kick off at 8 p.m. ET.
Las Vegas is a short favorite alongside an absurdly-low over/under. A couple key moves shaped those numbers earlier in the week.
The total opened 33.5, but took its first big dive Monday when sharp coin drove it down from 32.5 to 30.5.
Raiders money, meanwhile, rolled in Tuesday. Vegas moved from a pick'em to a peak of -3, before settling back to -2.5.
Though we're seeing mostly -2.5 and 30.5 on the line and total, respectively, other shops are hanging different numbers. DraftKings, for example, lines the Raiders -2, while FanDuel is offering a 29.5 on the total (you can browse and shop all odds here).
Jake Luton will start at quarterback for the Jaguars. He'll play a bulk of the snaps with C.J. Beathard and Trevor Lawrence unavailable. Second-year running back Travis Etienne will also be sidelined.
