Betting NFL parlays via Anytime Touchdown Scorers is incredibly fun, even if they’re mostly a losing proposition that will drain your bankroll if you’re not careful. Most sportsbooks tend to clean up on this type of bet, so how do we scratch the “parlay itch” without overextending ourselves financially?
Allow me to introduce “The 180 Challenge.” Here’s how it works:
Each week, I'll be betting a 3-leg NFL Anytime TD parlay that equates to +1800 or more. $10 per parlay ticket, $180 total for the season.
The goal is to win as much as possible. But the safety net is, you only need to hit one parlay all season to make your money back. If you go 0-18 (which is unfortunate), the positive spin is it's only $180. This way, we can still participate with fun touchdown parlays while managing our bankroll and not going overboard on bad spending habits. We finally hit our 22-1 parlay a few weeks ago. That means we’re playing with house money the rest of the season, for those who have followed.
Disclaimer: 18-1 parlays have less than 5% chance of hitting, and that percentage only shrinks as you increase the parlay odds. Keep your expectations in check and bet on these for recreation.
Continue below for my NFL parlay picks for Week 9.
NFL Parlay Picks Week 9
- AJ Brown Anytime Touchdown (+120)
- DJ Moore Anytime Touchdown (+210)
- Brock Bowers Anytime Touchdown (+230)
Parlay Odds: +2078 (FanDuel)
Jaguars vs Eagles Parlay Picks
Eagles WR A.J. Brown has destroyed man coverage over the course of his career. He leads the Eagles in target share and touchdowns (two) against man this year and averages a monster 5.22 yards per route run against them.
Fortunately for Brown, he'll face a Jaguars defense this week that plays man coverage at a top-four rate in the NFL. The Jaguars rank last in defensive DVOA against the pass on the season, having already allowed 17 touchdowns through the air.
Look for Brown to score another big play in Week 9.
Bears vs Cardinals Parlay Predictions
Bears WR D.J. Moore leads the team in red-zone targets and offensive snaps played.
This week, Chicago will be facing a Cardinals defense that plays zone coverage at a top-10 rate, which is good news for Moore. He leads the Bears in both target share and receiving touchdowns against zone this season.
After back-to-back quiet outings the last two weeks, I expect Moore to explode this week in Arizona.
Raiders vs Bengals Parlay Picks
This is a great matchup for the Raiders' star rookie tight end Brock Bowers.
The Bengals have already surrendered four touchdowns to tight ends this season, and they rank 23rd in defensive DVOA against tight ends. That's great for Bowers, who's really starting to hit his stride in the receiving game.
Bowers has seen 41 targets in the Raiders' last four games and is likely to see a similar level of volume again this week with Las Vegas expected to be playing from behind throughout a tough matchup against Cincinnati. That means Bowers should have even more opportunities to find the end zone in this one.
