Betting on an NFL parlay via Anytime Touchdown Scorers is incredibly fun, even if it's mostly a losing proposition that will drain your bankroll if you’re not careful. Most sportsbooks tend to clean up on this type of bet, so how do we scratch the “parlay itch” without overextending ourselves financially?
Allow me to introduce “The 180 Challenge.” Here’s how it works.
Every week, I'll be betting a three-leg NFLanytime TD parlay that equates to +1800 or more. $10 per parlay ticket, $180 total for the season.
The goal is to win as much as possible. But the safety net is you only need to hit one parlay all season to make your money back. If you go 0-for-18 (which is unfortunate), the positive spin is it's only $180.
By doing it this way, we can still be in on the fun with touchdown parlays while managing our bankroll and not going overboard with bad spending habits. We hit our first 22-1 parlay of the season back in Week 6, and then followed that up with a 20-1 winner in Week 10. That means we’re playing with house money the rest of the season!
Disclaimer: 18-1 parlays have less than a 5% chance of hitting, and that percentage only shrinks as you increase the parlay odds. Keep your expectations in check and bet on these for fun.
Continue below for my NFL parlay picks for Week 16.
NFL Parlay Week 16
- Cooper Kupp Anytime Touchdown (+140)
- Darnell Mooney Anytime Touchdown (+240)
- George Kittle Anytime Touchdown (+175)
Parlay Odds: +2078 (DraftKings)
Rams' wide receiver Cooper Kupp has scored six touchdowns in 10 games this season. This is an excellent buy-low spot for him, coming off a zero-catch performance against San Francisco last week.
This week should be a particularly great matchup for Kupp to get back on track. The Jets' defense ranks bottom-5 in defensive DVOA against the pass, and they've allowed four passing touchdowns in their past two games.
I expect Stafford to look for Kupp a bunch this week and get him back in the end zone.
Falcons wide receiver Darnell Mooney has only scored five touchdowns this season. However, this is a great matchup for him.
Mooney is Atlanta's primary deep threat on offense, and the Giants' pass defense has been straight awful.
The Giants rank 29th in defensive DVOA against the pass and last against the deep ball.
Mooney leads the Falcons in aDOT and ranks sixth in the NFL in total deep targets.
With Michael Penix now at quarterback for Atlanta, I expect a few deep balls to Mooney this week.
San Francisco tight end George Kittle has been a touchdown machine this season, with a total of eight thus far.
However, he finds himself in a little bit of a scoring drought as he's scored zero in his past three games.
Kittle is nearly matchup-proof in any given scenario, ranked fourth in the NFL in targets inside the 10-yard line.
The Dolphins' secondary ranks 24th in defensive DVOA against the tight end position on the season.
Expect Kittle to see plenty of red zone targets this week, especially since almost every 49ers running back is injured at the moment. And for what it's worth, Kittle has scored in four of five road games this season.
