Injuries unfortunately occur every week, but Sunday saw a particularly brutal number of star players go down.

Browns DE Myles Garrett (foot)

The reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year had been battling a foot injury and unfortunately aggravated it late in the Browns' loss to the Giants. Head coach Kevin Stefanski told reporters after the game the stud defensive end will undergo an MRI in the coming days.

Eagles WR Devonta Smith (concussion)

The Eagles entered the game already shorthanded at wide receiver with A.J. Brown out with a hamstring injury. They needed Smith to step up, and he did, catching seven passes for 79 yards. Unfortunately, he sustained a concussion in the fourth quarter after taking an absolutely brutal hit.

Eagles OT Lane Johnson (concussion)

Smith wasn’t the only star player who suffered a concussion for the Eagles. The team lost Lane Johnson in the first half, who has been one of the elite tackles in the league for the past decade.

Dolphins QB Skylar Thompson (chest)

Thompson entered as the team's starting quarterback for at least the next four weeks with Tua Tagovailoa on IR with a concussion. Unfortunately, he was forced out of the game with a chest injury after taking a huge hit. He was replaced by Tim Boyle, who was elevated from the practice squad just prior to the game.

Chargers QB Justin Herbert (ankle)

Herbert was a game-time decision with a high-ankle sprain but was able to give it a go. Unfortunately, he aggravated the injury midway through the third-quarter after taking a brutal sack. He was in visible pain as he limped off the field, and the Chargers had no chance after he went down as they fell to the Steelers, 20-10. He was seen in a boot after the game.

Chargers DE Joey Bosa (hip)

It was a particularly brutal day for the Bolts as the oft-injured Bosa left early with a hip injury on his very first snap of the game. The star edge rusher has played less than 10 games in each of the past two seasons.

Chargers OTs Rashawn Slater (pectoral) and Joe Alt (ankle)

The Chargers boast arguably the top tackle duo in the league. However, both left Sunday’s loss with injuries. Slater (pectoral) left in the third quarter, while Alt (ankle) was hurt in the fourth. The rookie was reportedly limping significantly as he told reporters he wasn’t sure exactly what type of injury he had to his ankle.

Vikings QB Sam Darnold (knee)

Vikings nation held their collective breath when Darnold was forced out of the game for a few players with a knee injury. He was able to return to action in Minnesota’s blowout of the Texans but is set to have his knee evaluated on Monday as a precaution.

 Vikings WR Justin Jefferson (finger)

Jefferson was in clear pain after bringing in a pass along the sideline. He was shaking and flexing his hand as he made his way to the bench, where he was looked at by trainers. He didn’t miss any time, however, yet underwent X-rays under the game. Fortunately, they came back negative, as he told reporters he merely jammed it.
