The first game of the NFL season is in the books as the Kansas City Chiefs held on in a nail-biter over the Baltimore Ravens, 27-20.

We’re onto the next one, which is in Brazil.

The Green Bay Packers and Philadelphia Eagles kickoff Friday night at Corinthians Arena in Sao Paulo. The teams enter the game after ending last year in completely opposite directions. Jordan Love sparked the Packers down the stretch to a wild card berth and a playoff win.

Meanwhile, the Eagles collapsed late in the season and flamed out in the playoffs. Philly retooled as a result, bringing in new coordinators while signing Saquon Barkley, Bryce Huff, C.J. Gardner Johnson, Devin White, DeVante Parker and Kenny Pickett among others

So, despite the drastic differences in how last year ended, the Eagles are 2.5-point favorites heading into kickoff. However, not everyone’s on the same page. There’s a drastic difference between the number of bets backing the Packers to cover and the amount of money pouring in on Philly. Green Bay has 69% of all tickets while the Eagles have 62% of the money.  The 32% differential between the two is the second-largest of any game this week.

Meanwhile, oddsmakers believe this will be a high-scoring game, setting the total at 49.5. That’s Week 1’s second-highest total behind only Sunday Night Football’s showdown between the Los Angeles Rams vs. Detroit Lions (52.5). While 49.5 is a high number, the public doesn’t think it’s high enough with 77% of all bets and 65% of the money.
