With the Commanders' win over the Cowboys, a heavyweight matchup has been set in the NFC for Wild Card Weekend.

In a rematch of Week 1 in Brazil, the Green Bay Packers will take on the Philadelphia Eagles. The Packers are one of the better No. 7 seeds in recent memory and might be getting the Eagles at a good time since Jalen Hurts has been out since suffering a concussion in Week 16. Jordan Love, though, left the Packers' Week 18 loss to the Bears with an elbow injury.

Here are the opening Packers vs. Eagles odds for the NFL Wild Card Round of the playoffs next weekend.

Packers vs. Eagles Projection

Sean Koerner, Action Network's director of predictive analytics, is delivering us his early projections for every playoff game as each matchup is set.

Koerner projects this spread as Eagles -2.5 with the over/under set at 46.5 points scored. This projection is assuming both teams are healthy, which is an important note given the recent health of both starting quarterbacks.

Green Bay Packers

By Brandon Anderson

Back in the season opener, Green Bay’s year looked waylaid by a Jordan Love injury, but head coach Matt LaFleur helped Malik Willis steal two wins at QB and Love slowly worked his way back to elite form by the second half of the season. The Packers are a Wild Card team thanks to a loaded division, but this team entered Week 18 as hot as any in football with the best DVOA over the previous six weeks.

The Packers offense has been terrific all season. RB Josh Jacobs has led one of the run-heavier teams in the league, and Love has exploded over the back half of the season for a second straight Toyotathon. Green Bay can do a bit of everything offensively with LaFleur’s creativity, though it does lack a go-to receiver and true calling card at times.

Green Bay’s defense has been a big surprise under new coordinator Jeff Hafley. That unit forced a heap of turnovers and has found its footing late in the season, even amidst some key injuries. The defense, not the offense, led the league in DVOA down the stretch, and it means this team really doesn’t have a weak spot heading into the postseason.

Philadelphia Eagles

By Brandon Anderson

It seems long ago now that the Eagles headed into their bye week 2-2 with many calling for changes among the coaching staff. Philadelphia ripped off 10 consecutive wins coming out of the bye as Saquon Barkley pushed for the NFL rushing record and Vic Fangio’s defense transformed into the best in the league.

As usual with the Eagles, the offense is built around an elite run game. Philadelphia’s offensive line remains the best in the league, and Barkley became one of nine players ever to run for 2,000 yards.

Jalen Hurts has been up and down and left the passing game somewhat inconsistent, and he enters the postseason coming out of concussion protocol, but A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith can take over any game at any time.

Philadelphia knows its formula, though – run the ball, control the clock, and play elite defense. Jalen Carter and the defensive front shut down the run, and rookie cornerbacks Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean helped transform this pass defense midseason into one of the best. The Eagles allowed more than 23 points only once since the Week 5 bye.

There’s no No. 1 seed in Philadelphia after a disappointing late loss in Washington, but this team believes it can run and defend its way all the way to the Super Bowl.
