The health of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was always going to be one of the biggest questions of Super Bowl 57. Late in the second quarter on Sunday, it appeared the Chiefs' worst fears seemed to become reality.
Yet Mahomes came out swinging in the second half, leading the Chiefs to a 38-35 Super Bowl 57 victory, going over his rushing yardage total player prop and winning Super Bowl MVP in the process.
After he was tackled by his ankle while scrambling on third down, Mahomes limped off the field and was in obvious pain on the sidelines.

Chiefs backup QB Chad Henne reportedly started to warm up after Mahomes left the field, and the Philadelphia Eagles quickly moved from 7.5-point favorites on the live spread to -8.5, before the line came back down to Eagles -7.5.
Mahomes did not miss a snap, however, as he returned to the field to start the second half.
Most of Mahomes' live props came off the board following his apparent aggravated injury. However, his live passing yardage prop was still live at bet365, and on "Bet What Happens Live! With Dr. Nick," our experts took a live under of 268.5.
Mahomes' rushing yardage total for the game was 24.5, and he had 11 rushing yards when he limped off the field. With a 14-yard scramble early in the third quarter, Mahomes went over his rushing total, which he cemented with a couple of additional runs in the fourth quarter. He also surpassed his longest rush prop of 11.5 yards.
For the game, Mahomes went under his passing yardage total of 223.5, tallying 182 yards through the air.
Mahomes left the Chiefs' AFC Divisional Round win against the Jacksonville Jaguars with a high ankle sprain to his right leg. He managed to return to the game and of course led Kansas City to an AFC Championship Game win over the Cincinnati Bengals, but he has not been 100% since the initial injury.
Ultimately, it didn't seem to matter on Sunday in Super Bowl 57.
