Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce will suit up against Austin Ekeler and Justin Herbert for a divisional Thursday Night Football matchup that yielded fireworks last season.

Three of those four players are recipients of the most popular player props for Thursday Night Football.

But between the two teams, the market is favoring the Chiefs over the Chargers in this contest.

The Chiefs' spread has the supermajority of the bets in both the ML and spread markets. That's despite a -195 and -4 clip.

It's no surprise to see Mahomes and Kelce among the top-three most picked prop bets, then.

Chargers vs. Chiefs Most Popular NFL Player Props

  1. Travis Kelce anytime touchdown scorer (-135)
  2. Austin Ekeler anytime touchdown scorer (-125)
  3. Patrick Mahomes to throw for three or more touchdowns (+110)

*Odds and data are according to PointsBet as of Thursday afternoon.

Our touchdown prop guru Gilles Gallant has some takes on each of these selections. You can read about his four best anytime TD selections for this Thursday Night Football contest here, where he picks Josh Palmer at +225 with Keenan Allen out, among others.

Travis Kelce Anytime Touchdown Scorer

It makes perfect sense why Travis Kelce is the most popular player prop for Chargers vs. Chiefs. The Mahomes-Kelce connection looked unstoppable in Week 1 with eight catches, 121 receiving yards and a TD. He’s the biggest favorite to score in W2, and part of that isn’t just Kelce’s undeniable ability but because of how the Chargers fared vs. tight ends last season.

Los Angeles gave up the second-most TDs to the position in 2021 and he’s scored four touchdowns in his last five games in this matchup.

A. Ekeler Anytime Touchdown Scorer

Ekeler has scored touchdowns in three of his last four games vs. the Chiefs, and he should receive another hefty workload for tonight's divisional matchup.

Although he has the talent to run the ball 15 to 20 times per game, two of those touchdowns were actually scored via the pass, which shows the running back’s versatility.

At a -125 clip, I'd stay away here, but I wouldn't be surprised if Ekeler gets into the end zone again tonight.

Patrick Mahomes Over 2.5 Passing Touchdowns

Throwing multiple touchdowns in a game is nothing new for Patrick Mahomes. But after throwing five last week, bettors are projecting an encore vs. the Chargers in Week 2.

Mahomes diced up the Chargers last season with three passing touchdowns in each divisional game. After throwing for five TDs in the season opener, it makes sense for bettors to bank on the Chiefs’ passing attack to continue to excel.
