The Patriots (1-2) face the 49ers (1-2) in Week 4 of the NFL season with kickoff set for 4:05 p.m. ET at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California. Here's an early look at the Patriots vs. 49ers odds, spread and total for this Sunday afternoon matchup.

The 49ers are favored by 10.5 points over the Patriots in the latest NFL odds for Week 4, with the over/under set at 40.

New England Patriots

New England was feisty over the first two weeks of the season, upsetting the Bengals before falling to the Seahawks in overtime. However, the Patriots no-showed in a Thursday Night Football clash against the rival Jets.

New England’s defense has been relatively stout, especially against the run, as it's given up the eighth-fewest yards per game (83.0). The Patriots enter the game as an underdog for the fourth-straight time to start the year.

San Francisco 49ers

The banged-up 49ers blew a 10-point lead with just over six minutes remaining against the Rams in a gut-punch loss.

The offense managed to put up points despite Christian McCaffrey, Deebo Samuel, George Kittle and Ricky Pearsall out injured. However, the defense couldn’t get enough stops against an equally decimated Rams offense.
