The Pittsburgh Steelers (1-0) and Denver Broncos (0-1) will kick off the Sunday afternoon slate of NFL Week 2. Kickoff is set for 4:25 p.m. ET from Empower Field at Mile High in Denver on CBS, and the game can be streamed live on Paramount+ on YouTube TV.

The Steelers are consensus 2.5-point favorites (Steelers -2.5) over the Broncos, with some books as high as Steelers -3, which is a key number in NFL betting. The over/under is currently 36.5 points, which is the lowest total on the board for any game in Week 2. The Steelers are -150 favorites on the moneyline to win, with the Broncos +125 to pull off the slight upset victory.

The Steelers got off to a winning start in an 18-10 victory over the Falcons last week with Justin Fields at quarterback, but it was T.J. Watt and an impressive defensive performance that led the way for Pittsburgh. The Broncos, meanwhile, got off to a losing start as Bo Nix underwhelmed in a 26-20 loss to Seattle.

Let's get into my Steelers vs. Broncos prediction and my NFL picks and predictions for Week 2 on Sunday.

Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Denver Broncos NFL Week 2 Preview

It feels like this could be an easy game for the Broncos to turn the Steelers into a one-dimensional offense. The game plan is pretty straightforward, and that’s to make Justin Fields throw the football. If he’s able to beat you with his legs, you’ll be in trouble.

Speaking of Fields, it seems like this could be turning into a bit of a drama-filled quarterback situation. Russell Wilson’s status for this game is again up in the air. Fields came out and did enough last week to beat the Falcons. If Pittsburgh starts 2-0, it would be tough to take the job from Fields, and I doubt Wilson would take that decision well.

Speaking of quarterbacks, Bo Nix was thrown into the lion’s den last week by having to start his NFL career in Seattle. That’s one of the toughest places to play in the NFL, and Nix didn’t exactly thrive.

Nix will know the same thing I know from watching film of that game last week: There were guys open. If he doesn’t get happy feet and trusts his offensive line, he should have opportunities to move the ball through the air. Of course, that’s easier said than done when T.J. Watt is one of the guys rushing the passer.

The Broncos defense wasn’t awful last week either. Seattle’s average starting field position was already in Denver territory, so giving up 26 points on the road when taking that into account isn’t awful.

The only knock on this pick is that I would have loved to have gotten a field goal with Denver at home. The line started the week at Broncos +3.5 but was quickly bet down to 2.5.

I’m not going to let that scare me off of Denver, though. The public perception of the Steelers is that this defense will help them travel well. I’m not buying that. I think Sean Payton is going to have something up his sleeve to wear the Pittsburgh defense down playing at altitude.

Think of it this way: We’re betting against Fields as a road favorite. We have to do it.

Pick: Broncos +3 | Bet to +2.5
