The Las Vegas Raiders have decided to remove the interim tag from Antonio Pierce and officially make him the next head coach of the Raiders.
Pierce went 5-4 as the interim head coach. More impressively, Pierce was 7-1-1 against the spread at the helm and ranked as a top three defense in the league after his takeover, according to EPA/play and DVOA.
The Raiders were the fourth-best team in the NFL ATS with a 10-6-1 overall ATS record.

He is just the third Raiders head coach since 1990 to finish the season above .500 ATS. He was the most profitable coach since he took over in Week 9.
Pierce also had plenty of support from the players to remain the head coach, including superstar defensive end Maxx Crosby.
The Raiders new head coach spent 10 seasons in the NFL with the team currently known as the Washington Commanders and the New York Giants. He began his coaching career at California high school football powerhouse Long Beach Poly. He then took a job with Herm Edwards' staff at Arizona State as a linebackers coach before being promoted to defensive coordinator.
He spent 1.5 seasons on Josh McDaniels' staff as linebackers coach before being promoted to interim head coach.
