Despite trailing by 10 points in the fourth quarter, the Los Angeles Rams rallied to upset the San Francisco 49ers, 27-24, in their Week 3 contest.

The Niners took a 24-14 lead on Jake Moody's 26-yard field goal with just under 12 minutes left. But Matthew Stafford guided a pair of Rams scoring drives before a 38-yard punt return by Xavier Smith set up Los Angeles' go-ahead drive.

Rookie kicker Joshua Karty drilled a 37-yard field goal with two seconds left to give the Rams an epic win. L.A. had opened as three-point underdogs, settled as six-point dogs by kickoff, and was available at +1200 SU at one point during Sunday's contest.

The Rams picked up their first victory of the season despite missing key starters, including receivers Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua, and offensive linemen Joe Noteboom and Steve Avila. According to Action Network's Evan Abrams, coach Sean McVay had entered Sunday 5-10 ATS vs. the 49ers in his career (his least profitable opponent ATS against any team).

The 49ers had won five straight road games SU against NFC West opponents entering Sunday but found a way to lose yet another game under coach Kyle Shanahan while holding a double-digit lead. The Niners were flying early on, taking a 14-point lead in the first quarter and Brock Purdy found receiver Jauan Jennings for three touchdowns.

San Francisco almost pulled out a miracle score on the final play of the game. But the Niners find themselves licking their wounds after losing back-to-back games early in the year. San Francisco is listed with the second-best odds (+650) of any team to win the Super Bowl this season.
