Rams vs. 49ers closes NFL Week 15 with Monday Night Football. Beyond spread and total bets, I'm looking at Rams vs. 49ers anytime touchdown scorer props.
Here are my three anytime touchdown scorer bets for Monday Night Football.
Rams vs. 49ers Anytime Touchdown Scorers
- Jauan Jennings Anytime Touchdown (+175, bet365)
- Ricky Pearsall Anytime Touchdown (+470, Caesars)
- Blake Corum Anytime Touchdown (+550, BetMGM)
Jauan Jennings is officially the new WR1 for the 49ers.
Jennings has essentially taken over Brandon Aiyuk's role. In six games without Aiyuk, Jennings has 54 targets and six receiving touchdowns. Not to mention, one of those games was against the Rams, when Jennings ran wild to the tune of 11 catches for 175 yards and three touchdowns.
Los Angeles plays zone at a top-five rate, and Jennings is the 49ers' leading receiver in terms of target share against zone defenses. The Rams have also allowed 17 touchdowns to wide receivers this season, which ranks among the bottom three teams in the NFL.
Back the 49ers' best wide receiver to find the end zone Thursday.
This could be the game that Ricky Pearsall finally starts to see some more action after recording just one catch in his last four outings.
Pearsall has averaged over 60% of snaps on offense, playing out of the slot nearly 40% of the time.
As I already mentioned, the Rams play a ton of zone and have allowed plenty of wide receivers to find the end zone this season. They also rank 29th in defensive DVOA vs. the deep ball. Conveniently, Pearsall's only touchdown this season came against zone defense and he ranks second among the 49ers' receivers in aDOT.
I have no problem backing a pair of 49ers wide receivers to score in this one.
This is simply a bet against the 49ers' run defense, which has dropped off a cliff.
San Francisco ranks 24th in defensive DVOA with 19 rushing touchdowns allowed, tied for 31st in the NFL. And they've still been trending the wrong direction of late, allowing six rushing scores in their last four games.
I know Kyren Williams will get the lion's share of carries, but the Rams do seem to be trying to work in Blake Corum more of late. Against the Bills, Corum saw eight carries, including four touches in the red zone.
This could be the week Corum gets his first NFL touchdown, so I like the value at +550.
