The Los Angeles Rams and Philadelphia Eagles play the final NFC Divisional Round game of the NFL playoffs on Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field. The game is scheduled for 3 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on NBC and Peacock.
Beyond NFL spreads and total bets, I'm looking at Rams vs. Eagles anytime touchdown scorers. I have two touchdown picks below for each team.
Rams vs. Eagles Anytime Touchdown Picks
- Cooper KuppAnytime Touchdown (+270; FanDuel)
- Dallas Goedert Anytime Touchdown (+340; FanDuel)
Matthew Stafford completed 19 passes in the Rams' Wild Card Round victory over the Vikings on Monday night — just one of those went to Cooper Kupp, which is hard to imagine.
The former NFL Offensive Player of the Year has seen his stock fall in the second half of the season with only one TD over his last six games.
But I think that changes this week. For as much of an offensive genius head coach Sean McVay is, the Eagles aren’t going to fall for the same stuff the Vikings did, and the Rams could be in a trailing game script that should increase Stafford’s pass attempts.
The Eagles' pass defense is elite; they play aggressive man coverage at a top-10 rate, but this is where I think Kupp will shine and reestablish himself.
Is this the same Kupp from three years ago? No, but he was still pretty effective against man defense this year with a 25% target share and two touchdowns. The Rams use so much pre-snap motion with Kupp and Puka Nacua that both should see plenty of opportunities.
When the Rams and Eagles played earlier in the season, Kupp had 11 targets and scored a TD.
Just because I prefer Kupp doesn’t mean you shouldn’t bet on Nacua (+155) or Demarcus Robinson (+500).
Nacua has an insane 44% target share vs. man and has grown into a physical, aggressive receiver that will likely see double-digit targets. Robinson leads the Rams with 6 TDs vs. man defense this season and scored in the matchup vs. Philly in Week 12.
You could argue that RB Saquon Barkley might have wrapped up NFL Offensive Offensive Player of the Year in that Week 12 matchup vs the Rams. He ran for a career-high 255 yards and two touchdowns and completely took over the game in the second half.
Do I expect a repeat performance? Not necessarily — but there’s a reason he’s -185 to score.
The issue with betting Eagles TD scorers from game to game is you know they’re going to lead with the rushing attack in most scenarios, especially when it comes to converting on fourth down.
Having Jalen Hurts and Barkley is a cheat code for short down-and-distance situations, which makes betting on Eagles pass-catchers troubling because Philadelphia may not need to throw in certain game scripts.
That's unfortunate because the Rams' pass defense has major flaws that WRs AJ Brown and/or Devonta Smith can exploit. Still, I keep coming back to TE Dallas Goedert (+375).
Goedert scored on a broken play last week vs. the Packers. In the Week 12 matchup against L.A., two of his five targets were in the red zone.
It’s pretty loose reasoning, but when you see that the Rams finished bottom five in targets, catches, and yards to tight ends with seven TDs allowed — including a TD to T.J. Hockenson in the Wild Card game vs the Vikings — it’s a bit more encouraging to re-invest in Goedert.
