Somehow, the Rams started 1-4 and still won the competitive NFC West with a week to spare. The Rams outlasted the Bills 44-42 in an early December game of the season that propelled this team back into the playoffs.
Like usual under Sean McVay, the offense remains the calling card. When Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp are both healthy and on the field, Matthew Stafford has passed all over defenses at times. Kyren Williams and the run game have been inconsistent but have come together as the offensive line has gotten healthy.
The Rams' defense is improving but is young and beatable. Rookies Jared Verse and Braden Fiske have been terrific up front, but the defense still needs to find plenty of answers and that could mean the Rams need to win some shootouts to make any postseason run.

It seems long ago now that the Eagles headed into the bye week 2-2 with many calling for changes among the coaching staff. Philadelphia ripped off 10 consecutive wins coming out of the bye as Saquon Barkley pushed for the NFL rushing record and Vic Fangio’s defense transformed into the best in the league.
The offense is built around an elite run game, as always. Philadelphia’s offensive line remains the best in the league, and Barkley became one of nine players ever to run for 2,000 yards. Jalen Hurts has been up and down and left the passing game somewhat inconsistent, but A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith can take over any game at any time.
Philadelphia knows its formula, though – run the ball, control the clock, and play elite defense. Jalen Carter and the defensive front shut down the run, and rookie corners Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean helped transform this pass defense midseason into one of the best in the league. The Eagles allowed more than 23 points only once since the Week 5 bye.
This team believes it can run and defend its way all the way to the Super Bowl.
