Rams vs. Lions
By Sam Farley
In a game that is packed full of narratives, the top one surely has to be Matthew Stafford finally playing a playoff game in Detroit. This is going to be a fascinating matchup for a number of reasons and one in which I think Stafford will be determined to excel.
His passing yards line for this game stands at 273.5, which I think he’ll clear with ease. It’s a number he’s covered in four of the past five weeks and he should do so again here. The Lions are strong against the run, but terrible against the pass as their secondary is a big weakness and has allowed more passing yards than all but five other teams in the NFL. The Rams will rely on the pass and dissect the Lions.
Pick: Matthew Stafford Over 273.5 Passing Yards (-114)

The Lions are strong against the run as only the Bears allowed fewer rushing yards per game this season. Kyren Williams has been the breakout running back in the NFL this season, but I think the Rams will be wary of trying to run him into the ground against the Lions’ defensive front.
Instead, we’ll see Sean McVay look to get one of his team’s best playmakers involved in the passing game, where Williams can get into the open field and cause problems for the Lions. Williams’ receiving yards line is at 15.5 and I think he’ll cover that fairly easily with McVay digging into his bag of tricks.
Pick: Kyren Williams Over 15.5 Receiving Yards (-114)

The Rams’ defense is worse against the pass than the run, which is one reason to back Amon-Ra St. Brown to score over either of Detroit’s running backs. The other reason is the health of tight end Sam LaPorta. We’ve seen the Rams struggle against tight ends this season, but LaPorta isn’t healthy, and even if he suits up, he’s unlikely to be at his best.
All of that points toward even heavier usage for St. Brown, who has 10 touchdowns on the season. Even more impressive is that he’s scored in each of the team’s past four games, meaning he is coming into this game in good form.
Pick: Amon-Ra St. Brown Anytime Touchdown (+120)
Rams vs. Lions

The strength of the Lions’ rush defense means the Rams will have to win this game through the air. So, we’re going to see Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua get a lot of work.
When it comes to betting either receiver to score a touchdown, I think Kupp has the edge. He’s had a down year after recovering from a serious injury, but he’s still one of Stafford’s favorite targets and when it comes to crunch time, I see the Rams relying on Kupp. It’s also gone under the radar how well he’s performed in recent weeks as he’s scored in four of his past five games. At plus money, I’m taking Kupp to score a touchdown against a poor secondary.
