Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams has told the Raiders that he prefers to be traded, NFL Network reported on Tuesday.
It comes amid weeks of speculation on the matter. The saga began over the summer, when Adams was featured in a Netflix documentary titled Receiver. In it, he was seen denigrating former quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo — and admitted to being a part in his eventual demotion — questioning his future with the Raiders and venting on the sideline about the hits he was taking.
"I got to get the f— out of here before I lose my f—ing life," Adams said on the sideline during a Week 6 game against the Patriots. "I ain't never been hit this many f—ing times in my career. Every game, I get f—ed up."
Then, after a loss to the lowly Panthers earlier this season, head coach Antonio Pierce insinuated that some players were dogging it on the field.
"I think as the game went on — I don't think it was the team," Pierce said. "I think there was definitely some individuals that made business decisions, and we'll make business decisions going forward as well."
Afterward, Pierce's Instagram account liked a post from Sports Illustrated reporting that Adams may have played his last snap as a Raider. Pierce's account later unliked the post. Adams said he hasn't spoken with his coach since during an interview on Up & Adams Tuesday.

Now, Adams has reportedly asked out. The favorites are the Jets, where he could reunite with former quarterback Aaron Rodgers. The Raiders want a second-round pick and "additional compensation," ESPN reported on Tuesday.
As far as the odds go, the Raiders' market outlooks didn't move an inch on account of the news. Las Vegas remains +3 (-115) underdogs against the Broncos on the road this week, the same odds they were this morning, according to bet365. Those odds are up from +1.5 (-110), which was the price after the Raiders beat the Browns on Sunday. Adams missed that game with a hamstring injury he said he suffered in practice three days prior.
The Raiders remain the same price across futures, as well. Las Vegas is still a lowly +12500 to win the Super Bowl and +300 to make the playoffs.
