Former LSU football wide receiver Kayshon Boutte was arrested on Thursday on charges related to illegal online gambling, according to WAFB 9News in Baton Rouge, La.
According to the report, Boutte allegedly created an online sports wagering account while underaged and placed thousands of different bets, including some on LSU football games.
Boutte allegedly placed thousands of bets between April 2022 and May 2023 and according to reports, six of them were on LSU football games. Reports suggest that Boutte never bet against himself or the LSU Tigers, which means that he allegedly never threw games or point-shaved.

The former five-star wide receiver is accused of having bet on himself against FSU as part of an eight-leg parlay under a username "Kayshonboutte01". All these transactions also reportedly occurred within LSU football confines.
booked himself into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on Thursday on charges of Computer Fraud, a felony, and a misdemeanor count of Gaming Prohibited for Persons under 21. He was booked and then bailed out on $6,000 bond.

“In July 2023, LSU was made aware of allegations regarding a former student-athlete’s improper conduct related to sports gambling while enrolled at the University. Since then, we have fully cooperated with all relevant authorities involved in the investigation and will continue to do so.
