The top of the 2022 NFL Draft was lauded for its depth at the edge rusher position. Three of them — Travon Walker, Aidan Hutchinson and Kayvon Thibodeaux — were selected in the top-five picks during Thursday's opening round.
With the trio of star pass rushers officially finding homes, betting odds and and sack totals for the rookies' 2022 campaigns were released Friday.
Travon Walker Over/Under 6.5 Sacks
Over: +100
Under: -135
Walker was the late bloomer in the year's class, surpassing Hutchinson throughout the spring as the No. 1 pick to the Jaguars.
Walker wasn't a stat stuffer at Georgia — he posted just 9.5 sacks across three seasons with the Bulldogs — but has an extremely high ceiling at the next level.
Still, the market's tempering expectations, as the 6.5 sack total's the lowest among the three pass rushers.
Aidan Hutchinson Over/Under 8.5 Sacks
Over: +110
Under: -145
Hutchinson damn near won the Heisman en route to setting Michigan's single-season sack record last year. He finished with 14.
A potential nine-sack season for Hutchinson would account for roughly one-third of Detroit's total production from 2021 (30).
Kayvon Thibodeaux Over/Under 7.5 Sacks
Over: -115
Under: -115
Thibodeaux was the top-ranked player out of high school. If his game fully translates, he's a steal at No. 5.
The 6-5 star pass rusher missed some time last season, but that didn't stop him from earning All-American honors.
Thibodeaux notched seven sacks across 10 games in 2021 and 19 total over 30 appearances during his career at Oregon.
