Thomas, a big-time player who makes plays in the red zone, scored three touchdowns in three games last season. In Week 1, Derek Carr looked his way thrice in the end zone.
Helping Thomas’ cause in this Monday Night Football game is the fact that the Panthers will be without top cornerback Jaycee Horn, who was placed on injured reserve on Friday.
I love the value on all Saints receivers, but Thomas is my favorite pick.
Hurst led the Panthers in all receiving categories in Week 1 – targets, catches, yards and, most importantly, touchdowns.
Rookie quarterbacks tend to find their tight ends, and with the pressure the Saints defensive line is going to generate, Bryce Young will have to make quick throws up the seam.
I’m also partial to Adam Thielen in this game at +280, but I trust Hurst will be Young’s preferred target in the red zone.
