The San Francisco 49ers (1-1) face the Los Angeles Rams (0-2) in the late-afternoon NFL Week 3 slate on Sunday. Kickoff is set for 4:25 p.m. ET from SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif. The 49ers are 7-point favorites with the game total set at 44.5. San Francisco is a -350 favorite on the moneyline, while Los Angeles is +280 to pull off the upset. The game will be broadcast live on FOX and can be streamed on platforms like YouTube TV.

The Rams have been ravaged by injuries early in the season. They were without three starting offensive linemen last week against the Cardinals, while wide receivers Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua will both be out for this game. Speaking of injuries, the 49ers will be without Christian McCaffrey and Deebo Samuel for the foreseeable future.

Let's get into my 49ers vs. Rams prediction for Sunday afternoon and my NFL picks and predictions for Week 3.

49ers vs. Rams: NFL Week 3 Picks

By Matt Trebby

This game is more about who isn't playing than who is.

The Rams' season is already on the brink of collapsing. Los Angeles was without three starting offensive linemen last week and will be without its two best playmakers on offense for the foreseeable future. The defense has also been subpar against the run.

On the other side, San Francisco will definitely be without Christian McCaffrey and Deebo Samuel, while George Kittle's status is also unknown. You trust the 49ers to remain more competitive without their key playmakers, though.

San Francisco can start 1-0 in the NFC West with a win here. The Niners are tied with Arizona and Seattle early in the division, with the Cardinals having already taken care of the Rams last week. This could be shaping up to be a more competitive division than previously expected, especially if Los Angeles somehow pulls off an upset here.

Best Bet for 49ers vs. Rams

By Brandon Anderson

This is a huge trends spot for the Rams, so while I’d lean toward San Francisco, I can’t bet that side. I also don’t want to back Los Angeles because of its injuries.

So, I’m going to bet on the 49ers to do the one thing I feel best about them doing in this game: score.

The 49ers scored at least 24 points in every win last season and got to 27 in 13 of their 14 wins. They even reached 30 in 10 of their 14 victories.

San Francisco only scored 17 against the Vikings, but that was against a much better defense. Also, the Niners committed two turnovers and had two turnovers on downs, including one on an 88-yard drive. Three of those four drives happened in Vikings territory, as well.

I’m not going to bet on San Francisco with all of its injuries, but I will bet that it will score enough points to cover this total against a porous Rams defense.

Pick: 49ers Team Total Over 25.5
