The Seattle Seahawks (8-7) and Chicago Bears (4-11) will play the day after Christmas in NFL Week 17 at Soldier Field. Kickoff for Thursday Night Football is set for 8:15 p.m. ET on Amazon Prime Video.
Beyond spread and total bets, I'm looking at Seahawks vs. Bears anytime touchdown scorers and have a pick for each team on Thursday Night Football.
Here are my two anytime touchdown scorer bets.
Seahawks vs. Bears Anytime TD Scorers
- Rome Odunze Anytime Touchdown (+275, DraftKings)
- Tyler Lockett Anytime Touchdown (+550, Caesars)
The Seahawks defense has played well since their bye week. Over its last six games, Seattle has allowed 19.8 points per game, although it has given up 30 and 27 in its last two.
While the defense has generally played well, it has struggled to defend opposing wide receivers. Seattle has allowed 18 touchdowns to receivers this season, including six in the last three games.
Sam Darnold threw three touchdowns on Sunday, all of which went to receivers. (Justin Jefferson had two and Jordan Addison had the other one.)
The Seahawks rank 23rd in DVOA in defending deep passes, so we’re going with Rome Odunze since he’s a strong downfield threat.
Odunze has a whopping 10 red-zone targets over the Bears’ last five games — that’s more than either Keenan Allen or DJ Moore.
Tyler Lockett has taken a backseat in the Seahawks offense over the past couple months, but we’ll bet on him here.
Lockett still leads the Seahawks in average depth of target and gets a good matchup. He has seen more snaps and targets when facing zone coverage, and the Bears play zone at a top-seven rate entering Week 17.
Bears CB Jaylon Johnson is one of the best in the NFL, but I expect that he will be matched up on the outside against DK Metcalf. Also, Jaxon Smith-Njigba lines up in the slot most of the time when Seattle uses three-receiver sets.
Chicago ranks in the top five in DVOA against short passes and is in the middle of the pack against deep balls. Through the air, we’ll bet on Lockett making a big play at a big number.
