After the Giants' paltry showing on Thursday Night Football vs. the 49ers, their odds against the Seahawks for next week's game have changed slightly.
Seahawks vs. Giants on Monday Night Football on Oct. 2 had been a pick 'em throughout the market. Now, the Seahawks are -1 favorites.
That's also up from a preseason clip of Seahawks +1 for this contest.
There hasn't been much to write home about for the Giants this season. They failed to score a single point until their seventh quarter and have been embarrassed twice on primetime television.
And while New York’s NFL team boasts one of the league’s best defenses on paper, that unit has been awful, according to the advanced stats. They rank 29th in EPA per play and are a paltry 27th in DVOA. Offensively, they're one of the worst teams in the league, too. The G-Men have a lot to figure out.
The Seahawks may present one of their best options to bounce back. It's a defense that — while improved from last season — is immensely beatable. If the Giants' defense steps up against a Seahawks attack that ranks 6th at EPA/play, we'll have ourselves a ballgame.
One thing to note: keep an eye on Barkley’s availability and how that could adjust the spread for the game against the Seahawks.
